  • Major update - expect an update soon.

  • New Tracks - Billie has recently cut a new CD demo/sampler, with 4 brand new tracks, co-written by herself. See the details here

  • Updated Galleries - Billie played at a Chicago radio station last summer and thanks to Ryan Wilson-Foley, we have some images from that appearance. Enjoy.

  • Media section to be removed - after 3 years plus, I'm taking the broadband and media sections offline, including all video, streaming audio etc. I'll be keeping the messageboard, lyrics, articles and image galleries online for a while, but just removing the media, as this is the most expensive storage (cost per mb). Sorry for any inconvenience, guys.

  • (13 Oct) Billie film wrapped - one year one from when we heard about it, the film Purpose [alt: Purpo$e] has finished production - Billie has a small part in it. Keep your eyes out for the dot.com era movie. Check Internet Movie Database.

  • (09 Oct) Billie 'doing shows' - thanks to Mercedes of the RainbowNetwork, we have some information on Billie. She is currently 'doing shows and looking around'. So for those of us eager for any word, at least she is still on this planet ;)

  • (20 March) Billie is writing for third album - according to music journalist, Tina Mrazik, Billie is currently in the UK, writing songs for her third album, and hopes to have a new record deal by the summer. According to Tina, this information came from a very 'reliable source'.

  • (14 Dec) Billie announced today that herself and Universal records have split company under mutual agreement. Billie said on her website, "Of course you will still be able to purchase past albums, singles (when released) and remixes .... And they will still fall under the Universal Music Group umbrella.
Who knows where I will end up but when I get there, I'll let you know!
" Given that Universal run her official website and that they bought the URL off the 'TeamBillie' fanclub, will they continue to maintain it or transfer it back?

  • (10 Dec) For those curious as to her happenings at the moment, Billie has been doing small gigs on her regular appearance route in the US, promoting her new singles.

  • (22 Oct) Billie has been a offered small acting part in a Universal film called 'Purpose'. She may also be putting a track on the film soundtrack. Stay tuned for details. Alternatively, keep an eye on the US movie database

  • (06 Oct) Universal put UK release of 'Vertigo' on hold. In an interview with Mercedes Clark-Smith, Billie admits that Universal are testing the water in Germany (Oktoberfest) ahead of the UK, because 'of a girlie backlash'. Read it here.

  • (17 Jun) New Billie article. The Billboard Radio column 'Airwaves' has a piece on Billie. Read it here. Billie's album 'Vertigo' also made Billboards Critics' Album of the Week.

  • Singles earmarked? The CD import version of 'Vertigo' available in the UK has a sticker on the front: 'Featuring the tracks 'Am I Here Yet? (Return To Sender)', 'Should I call You Jesus' and 'Flexible'. Does this mean that Universal have earmarked these 3 tracks for possible future single release? It's a case of wait and see....

  • Europe availability: 19th June? Pan- European web-based CD music retailer Boxman has a release date of the 19th June 2000 for Billie's new album 'Vertigo'. No other notable website (eg. audiostreet, blackstar or IMVS) have posted a release date. HMV confirmed this date, stating that this was actually the date for the availability of the US version as an import through Polydor, so get your copy now !!
There is currently no news from Universal as to any release dates (non-import) in the UK and Europe for Billie's latest singles or album.

  • Track Listing and clips on CDnow.com. Billie's new album 'Vertigo' is now available to buy as as import(US) from both Amazon.com and Cdnow.com. Track snippets are available in either RealAudio or MP3. However, Amazon.co.uk still has no UK or European release date. On the US version of 'Vertigo' the tracks are:
    • Am I Here Yet? (return to sender)
    • Should I Call You Jesus
    • Vertigo
    • Without My Consent
    • Room Full of View (A)
    • Flexible
    • Where Romeo Never Dies
    • Never Let Them See You Cry
    • "Roll Over Beethoven"
    • Afraid Of Spiders
    • Bitter Fruit (dead weight)

  • UK album release to be substantially later than US. June 6th 200 was the date for the US release of Billie's new album (provisionally entitled 'Am I here Yet', but now referred to as 'Vertigo'). No UK release date has yet been scheduled for either the album or the new single 'Am I Here Yet?

  • Billie's UK Fansite to go WAP-enabled. Due for launch sometime in mid-Summer, a WAP service which will hopefully offer similar functionality to this existing site. At the moment, the framework is there in case you want to test the service, but there are a number of dead ends, and the news isn't up to date.[ preview ]

  • 'Am I Here Yet?' hits US playlists. Although the first single off the new album 'Am I Here Yet' hit US radio playlists mid-April 2000, and was released in the US for June, although there is still no sign of an official UK release date. I'll keep you informed.

  • TeamBillie hands over website. www.billiemyers.com, the US fansite and home of TeamBillie handed over the URL to Universal and Billie's new management (Turner Management Group) to develop. The site has been the source of reliable information for the last 2-3 years, due to a committed fanbase and close family members. At the moment, the old chat-forum remains, and runs alongside the new one.

    - OLDER NEWS -

  • Revamp for UK fansite - in order to prepare for the imminent release of 'Am I here Yet', the UK fansite is evolving to offer a more European-centric approach. As well as a face lift from a dark to a friendlier, lighter look and feel, old and unused sections of the website have been removed, and new features added such as a web-based message board and translation facilities for European fans. Until copyright issues are clarified, RealAudio and .mp3 tracks have been temporarily taken down. Forthcoming features will include a more up-to-date 'Tour and Appearances' section, management contact details, fan mailing list, and a mobile internet WAP news / tourdates service. Fans will be invited to submit track and album reviews. Watch this space.

  • Billie has title vocals on new film soundtrack 'Down To You'. Released US-side in late-January 2000, the film 'Down To You' featured Billie Myers singing the title track 'It All Comes Down To You'. Billie was in London penning her new album for April and May 1999 before flying to LA for studio work, with producer David Tyson.

  • Album tracks named. In a recent on-line response to a fan on Billie's US fansite, Billie listed a number of completed track titles -
    They are :
        'Am I here yet?'
        'Vertigo'
        'Welcome to the real world'
        'Should I call you Jesus'
        'Painfully happy'
'Never let them see you cry'

Billie is one of the few artists to respond directly to her fans using the new media in this way.

  • Billie rumoured to drop Digget Management. According to the chat forum on the US website, Billie's relationship with her management company, Diggit Management, has resulted in a possible split. Watch this space for future developments. (update: Billie is now with the Turner Management Group)

  • Diggit Management failed to exploit Brits '99 nomination. Since the nominations were announced, the UK media largely concentrated on the big names, with Billie barely getting a mention. Yet, her overseas success overshadowed that of the other nominees in her section. Even the public vote on the Brits website had Billie Myers with 52% of the vote. So, why did Billie's UK management and record companies fail to exploit these facts?

  • Universal UK to merge with Island records. Billie's record company in the UK, MCA/Universal has announced a merger with Polydor/Island Records. How this will affect the marketing of Billie's records is open to speculation. For the latest press releases/news on Universal Music Group, go here.
